Myst Movie
The popular 1990s video game Myst is going to make it to the big screen. Well the film won't be based on the game itself, it will actually dwell in the backstory of Myst: the film will be based on the tie-in novel "Myst The Book of Ti'ana". Mysteria Film Group obtained indeed the film rights from game developers Cyan Worlds. And Adrian Vanderbosch and Isaac Testerman of Mysteria have now partnered with producers Hunt Lowry and Mark Johnson (The Chronicles of Narnia) to develop a live-action Myst movie.
Here's an early animated concept trailer of Myst:
Plot:
"Myst The Book of Ti'ana focuses on the fall of D'ni."
For those who don't know Myst, it was a graphic adventure game requiring you to explore and progress through mysterious environments by pointing-and-clicking. Myst still is one of the best-selling PC game of all time.
A few words from Producer Adrian Vanderbosch about the upcoming Myst movie:
"Our aim with this project is to stretch the genres it operated within, much like the source material did. It is such an innovative property and by utilizing the novels as our primary resource, we have the opportunity to offer audiences the essence of MYST without being limited only to the famous island of the first game. Our focus has always been on creating an entirely new visual experience driven by engaging characters and an epic narrative."
Producer Adrian Vanderbosch
I guess they intend to develop a Myst movie franchise if f this first film is a success.
